Girona...
Don't know where that is?
A little town an hour away from the bustling city of Barcelona..the air is fresh..seagulls fly..(it's a coastal town..20 minutes away from Costa Brava)
:)
arrived here at about three and checked into our hotel : Hotel Ciutat de Girona.
2nd best in the city...IM NOT A BRAT. the price is about the same as the hotel we had in Barcelona.
The hotel..is..OMG.
Four star.
whoaaaaa.
Natsy and Kshen in the room.very modern and sleek.
the entrance.yes i got the same shoes as Nats..
:) very nice yes?
Went shopping at the Spanish designer shops..though the price was horrendous. but still managed to buy some..:)

Underneath the spanish skies.....
hello everyone...or should i say..olaa!!! (geez that sounds cheeeeeeseeeyy)
left from the east midlands airport today at 1550. Ryanair wasn't bad at all, save the very bitchy ticket information lady who well.was very bitchy...
:)
arrived at the Girona Airport...and was struck by...the smell of horse crap!
dont know why it smelt that way...but it did.took the bus right into the heart of Barcelona..and into Hotel Principal. Very nice hotel. Call us bratty but i dont care!there's wireless!
:)I was starving by then..and we had absolutely no idea where to go. Our hotel is situated near the la ramblas, BUT in quite a dodgy and quiet area. Asking the concierge for restaurant suggestions was one of the best decisions we made so far lol. He directed us to this place : Les Quinze Nits.
Economical a.k.a KIAMSIAP ppl, don't be put off by the poshness of the surroundings or its name. It really is a great bargain, with the most expensive dish being about 10 euro or so..
I do have tons of pictures, but Nat's camera doesn't have a cable so...it'll have to come later.
I recommend the Calamars Andalusa (fried calamarii) for starters...
I had the Llom de Bacalla ( codfish with burnt garlic sauce) for the Main. I tell you. This Dish. o.m.g. I even ate the veggies!!!!!!(that should tell you how good the food was because I NEVER eat veggies) The fish was done perfectly, not too dry or too raw..
Kshen had the Salma Planxa Laminas (grilled salmon with courgettes). The salmon was sooo fresh and grilled just so the fish was still tender..add the cucumber thingies (yes I ate them too) and..whoo hoo.fish heaven for fish lovers.
Natalie had the Spanish local favourite, the Mar I Montanya Mand. (meatballs and squid in squid ink) Before you go *ewwww*..it's not as disgusting as it sounds.. neither does it look disgusting. The meatballs put the Ikea swedish meatballs to SHAMEEE. The meat was rolled up very loosely so the meatballs come loose in your mouth at first chew..The squid was super fresh, and even though squid isn't really what I'd go for, Squidlovers!this dish is a must-try.
Now comes dessert...
*looks blissfully into nothingness*
phwoar..
I had the Catulayan dessert; nougat with ice cream and custard and melted chocolate.....omigod.
HEAVEN.
seriously Im not exaggerating. Even Kshen, who is very hard to please, paused and closed his eyes, smiling at the first mouthful.
We thought that it would be very "jelak"..but NOPE. I wanted more.and.more.and.more.
Nyums.
Gastronomy's heaven.
Natalie had Profiteroles and cream, something quite normal, but by now I think you would have guessed that this restaurant was made to impress *looks blissfully into nothingness again*
Yes yes. Our first meal in spain - our opening ceremony - was, indeed the most perfect for the three of us. We wouldnt have it any other way. mmmmmmm.
:)
I wish we had the pictures.
But they will come later...or on Facebook.
Gotta go look for stuff to see tomorrow.
Lips! seriously! you have to go to that restaurant!!!
ok thanks bye!
Buenos noches!
xoxo

vamos a espana!
:)
EnLi is going to Spain!! *dons sunnies*from the 18th till 27th march enli is going to the land of zorro, samba, cafe del mar and...old weird cathedrals...:)..the unfortunate ones to be dragged along? Kshen and Nat..anyone else wanna come along??
aaanyways....spent the weekend with ShauntheMango and AlexWungtheIdiot. London, as always, was good.
Waiting for the bus 24 take II
with the idiot from Manchester
Not to mention the Imperial mNite which was the bomb..steamrolled Warwick's by a mile..What did I like about it?
Got to see Joshua and Chester strut their stuff in the dances..Joshua in the Indian dance and Chester in the..er..market dance where he was a very enthusiastic butcher..lol. oh and Amresh who was playing himself exactly as the young Jon...
One surprise was Keat's friend Sing Kwan..didnt know he could act..and act he did...as a Mat Rempit no less. Though I found it rather strange that he switched accents when he randomly burst into the Malay language; as he spoke perfectly accented English most of the time. The female actresses came off rather weak in comparison to the male talent - and NO Im not being typical enli who's biased towards the opposite sex. Oh oh MELL! i also met Ming and Yusnie.and Keat of course but hes not worth mentioning cuz he FFK-ed me.
I was super super impressed by Yan Jun (?) who was Boon, every mnite's token aHbeng...His HAIR, ACCENT,STYLE,SPEECH,EYES...all screamed CHEE CHEONG KAI AHBENG...hahah..he kept the audience laughing with his chinapek accent going "eh miss. I sell DVDs u know?" and "Ah pa..*referring to altar* Someone here to see you.." and of course, who could forget the "Diam diam la lu.." in his first scene.....*sigh* Talent attracts me. and ohmygee I'll be so screwed if he comes across this blog o.O:D. Oh well. Loved the voice changing from chinapek to deep masculine when he had to sing. he sings well too.
let's see. he FITS the criteria! someone cute(ish), talented, funny, confident, can sing, smart (imperial).WHOA.dream guy alert. lol again he better not see this.and if any of you people who know him read this post DONT show it to him.DONT. i shy.=.=
Didnt even go up to him to congratulate him..though i think he would look at me funny if i did. I mean, which self-respecting girl would be so forward as to do that right? or maybe thats just me being egotistic and anal about approaching guys first.
teehee. Imperial = land of cute(ish) guys.the creme de la creme of malaysian guys maybe?not that its very good quality anyway..but that's where the best of the worst is.heehee. okay I shall stop degrading guys to mere products of the flesh trade and move on to other more interesting anecdotes..
James, Kshen and DingShyong : The trio that's always worth a mention. These three nuts never fail to make me laugh even when im thoroughly annoyed with them. What was the joke this time? Me being a BBC..oh yeah got a new name too....Emily Lam...*say it in the hong kong-ese accent*..
...Im rambling.
sigh.when will my blog turn into one of those intellectual thought provoking ones that leave you thinking "wow she's so deepp"...
hopefully never...:)
one thing though, i definitely need to write better. I think im losing my touch. or maybe i never had it. i need to stop second guessing myself too.geez.
You took me right out of the blue
simply by showing that you love me too...
#1(:
